FROM THE NORTH WOODS
TO NEW ZEALAND AND BEYOND
Hayward, Wisconsin USA
Although Beehive Botanicals is nestled in the North Woods of Wisconsin, they ship products all over the world.
Northern Wisconsin is a place lost in time. There's acre after acre of rolling farmland and pristine pine woods, glacier-formed lakes with some of the best gamefishing in the United States.
Mother Nature isn't bashful here. She's beautific in the summer, resplendent in the fall, raging in the winter and conciliatory in the spring.
This is the home of Beehive Botanicals, whose line of skin, health and personal care products mirrors the area's awareness of the environment.
The North Woods may seem an unlikely spot for a company that does business all over the world. But Beehive has always had an international focus.
The company was born in 1972, when amateur beekeeper Warren Ogren came across a magazine ad from a firm in Denmark seeking sources of propolis the hard, sticky, wax-like substance honeybees use to seal and sterilize their hives.
In the decades since Ogren first established Beehive, the company has grown to include raw material sales, private label items and thirty-two Beehive Botanical brand consumer products. All utilize substances produced by honeybees as the active ingredient.
Today, under the stewardship of Ogren's daughter, Linda Graham (who purchased the company in 1992), Beehive distributes raw material and finished goods in the U.S., Canada and 23 foreign countries, including Denmark, Holland, Finland, Norway, Ireland, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, South Africa, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and Russia.
Propolis, long used in Europe and Asia for medicinal use, is still a Beehive mainstay. In 1993, the company developed the first standardized propolis offered in North America, recently renamed Propol2000TM. In 2001, Beehive completed its third expansion of its Hayward processing facility.
Along with propolis; honey, royal jelly and pollen are used in Beehive products like skin creams, shampoo, conditioner, massage oil ... even lip balm, throat spray and chewing gum. Beehive also produces a full line of dietary supplements, as well as gift and bath assortments and gourmet honey.
All Beehive products are packaged in recyclable containers, are environmentally safe and cruelty-free. The company has never conducted formula testing on animals. |
